Welcome to The American School of Genealogy. Please visit our Academics section and our policies on enrollment. We are certain that you will enjoy our advanced one-on-one mentorship model. We encourage you to enroll in one or two courses, it is not necessary to enroll for a complete program.

The American School of Genealogy, a branch of the School of Genealogy, Heraldry and Documentary Sciences of Bologna, Italy, is a recently incorporated distance learning School situated in Mississippi. It has been established as a corporation governed by a seven member Governing Board as specified in its Charter and 501c(3) internal revenue code.

The founding Mission of the American Branch of the School of Genealogy, Heraldry, and Documentary Sciences is to provide the opportunity for genealogists, family historians, archivists, librarians and teachers and other professionals to develop further and higher level knowledge and skills in the foundational structures of genealogical research and underlying theoretical anthropological kinship foundations in genealogy, history of heraldry, chivalry, ethnic culture, family, and in anthropological studies.

The School’s purpose is also to provide an array of certificates, diplomas and postgraduate diplomas relating to how pedagogy (the art, science, or profession of teaching) both practical and theory, relates to a better understanding of the aforementioned disciplines.

The underlying commitment of the founders is to provide an opportunity for the study of genealogy at a higher level of skills intended for increasing career opportunities in government, business, education and legal enterprises. It is understood that such will be a time consuming process as the field of professional genealogy has yet to secure the agreed upon professional standards which are necessary in any career profession.

Anti-Discrimination Policy

The American School of Genealogy does not discriminate on the basis of age, ethnic origin, religion, or sex in any of its policies and programs.
